Voice-dubbing in the anti-Muhammad/anti-Islam film, "Innocence of Muslims"

I finally forced myself to go ahead and watch that pathetic "film," Innocence of Muslims. The anti-Muhammad, anti-Islam, anti-Muslim crap. I certainly think it's an insult to films to consider this a film. It is so horrible! The performance, the plot, the structure--everything about it is hideous. I cannot believe anyone has been taking this thing seriously enough to even kill people over it! I'm so surprised it's even regarded as a film!

According to Cindy Lee Garcia, one of the actresses in this lame Muhammad "film," neither she nor any of the other actors and actresses were told that this was actually about Islam or Muhammad or anything; the script was titled "Desert Warriors." And

In the script and during the shooting, nothing indicated the controversial nature of the final product, now called Muslim Innocence. Muhammed wasn't even called Muhammed; he was "Master George," Garcia said. The word "Muhammed" was dubbed over in post-production, as were essentially all other offensive references to Islam and Muhammed.

The entire cast and crew are extremely upset and feel taken advantage of by the producer. We are 100% not behind this film and were grossly misled about its intent and purpose. We are shocked by the drastic re-writes of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred.

In fact, here's the July 2010 Craigslist ad for this film, calling for actors and actresses:

Having watched this excuse of a "film," I have to agree that there is a lot of dubbing going on in the version the public sees. It kills me to subject anyone else to watching this crap, but here in this portion of the "film," for example, one can very easily note the dubbing at 1:28 to 1:33--the voice we hear is nothing like the voice of the actor who's talking during this scene; compare at to just a second before. We hear more dubbing later from 2:56-3:01. The same thing here: the voice is completely different.

Basically, any time the words "Islam" or "Muslim" or the name "Muhammad" or names of any of his companions or friends (e.g., Bilal) are uttered, dubbing occurs. The word "Islamic," for instance, is heard at 1:38, but it's not the same voice as of the actor. Exact same thing happens at 3:34-3:37 (with the name "Bilal") and 3:40-3:42 (with the name "Muhammad"--this is perhaps the clearest of all the dubbing). From 7:10-7:13, this "Muhammad" says, "Have you not heard what God has said in the Koran?" and, again, the voice is not the actor's voice; it's dubbed over his.

You get the point. No need to go through all of it.

Again, I cannot believe anyone is taking this crap seriously. I'm not even going to comment on the "Islamic" part of it. The thole thing looks like something "performed" by "actors" and "actresses" with absolutely no talent whatsoever. The camera movement is also something that is so poorly handled that anyone involved in the film-making process should be feeling mortified that they were in any way involved with this.

Yes, anyone who has stated so far that this is certainly not about freedom of speech has spoken the truth. It is SO obvious in every other line, if not every line, of this "film" that this was intended as an attack on Muslims and their beliefs. Anyone arguing otherwise has to be completely blind and must not have seen the "film" yet. Really, it doesn't deserve any attention at all. Don't waste your times (and people's lives!) with it, folks.
